The course aims to provide hands-on training by well-known faculties, thus enabling the participants to improve their emergency ultrasound practices and hence patient care. The various sessions at the course will endow the attending physicians with the latest emergency technology available for diagnosis.

Point of care ultrasound is a rapid, accurate, repeatable, non-invasive imaging without the risk of radiation that aids the clinical examination, bed side diagnosis, and resuscitation. It has evolved from a new technology and become a vital organ of emergency departments across the globe. Life threatening conditions can be identified without leaving the resuscitation area within a matter of seconds. Quick diagnosis of a limited set of injuries or pathologic condition becomes easy with point-of-care ultrasound. It thus aids in quicker informed decisions for ill/injured patients.

Some of the topics to be included at the course are: “FAST – Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma,” “Hepatobiliary and Cardiac Scanning,” “Vascular Access Screening,” “Deep Vein Thrombosis,” “Advanced Abdominal Ultrasound,” and “Soft Tissue Infections.” The course will also provide a chance for hands-on training by the experts. A certificate of participation will also be provided to all the attendees.
